Horse Section

Welcome to our Equine Section As a Committee we endeavour to run a wide spectrum of classes which hopefully everyone will be able to enter a least a couple of classes to make your visit worthwhile.
We are a local Show and hope to encourage all without the pomp and ceremony of county level but our Judges do have a keen eye!! It's difficult to ensure all disciplines are kept up to scratch with horse/ponies and donkeys in the area and as the trends move - if we have failed please do let us know and we will try and accommodate in the following year.
Our fancy dress class in the Main Ring at 12.45 is on Musicals theme so there's lots of choice there. Hard hats must be worn by all competitors in this class whether mounted or not but there's no entry fee and each entrant received £10.
In previous years this has been a spectacular display in our Main Ring. Our entries open as soon as the schedule is available and postal entries are accepted up to 24th August when postal entries close but we then accept entries on the day but only up to 12 noon.
Postal entries are £8 per class and then its £10 per class on the day.
On behalf of Romiley Young Farmers Show Committee we would like to thank all our Sponsors and Spectators for their kind and generous support throughout the years and also a big thank you to all our Competitors because without them we would not have a Show.
We all hope you enjoy your day.

Homecraft and Horticulture

Hi and welcome to the cookery, homecraft and horticulture section at Romiley Young Farmers Show!!

We are based in the Cookery, Homecraft & Horticulture marquee on the show field and once all of our competition entries have been judged, we open to the public and your entries become exhibits!

We run lots of different classes for adults and children of all ages, and each year there will be new classes to get your teeth into – take a look at our online schedule for a full list of the classes we run.

Classes are only 50p to enter, you can enter as many classes as you like, and every class in the adults section has a sponsor donated prize for the winner! In the children’s classes there is a prize for every 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and each child entry will receive a special rosette for competing.

here are also a number of trophies to be won which are yours to take home until the next show the following year. We hold a prize giving in the marquee in the afternoon on show day, where our lovely president gives out the prizes and trophies and everyone gets a well-deserved round of applause! We have great fun every year in our marquee and would love for you to come and join us – whether you would like to enter a class, sponsor a class, or help out on the day, details of how to enter and the contact details for our head steward Sarah are in the online schedule and we’d love to hear from you. See you in September!!

Children's Pet Show

Do you like your dog?

Does your rabbit have a hidden talent?

Is your pet the cutest animal ever?

The children’s pet competition is your chance to show off your much loved animal to everyone, and see if the judge thinks it deserves a prize!

This is a great way to show the public just how much better your pet is compared to theirs (in the judge’s opinion), and the prize money for winning doesn’t hurt either!

Most entries are dogs, but any pet can enter. In fact, the weirder the better! (well, no crocodiles).

If you wish to enter the competition, come to the Pet Show marquee on the Showground on the day from 8am up until half an hour before the judging begins to register.
There are lots of classes to enter, and you can enter as many as you want to (50p entry fee for each class).
